Pagliacci Premiere, rehearsals, knee…
Hi there! I hope you are well. This week was a busy one, and I am glad I got through it.
We started the week at Sondershausen with the last runs of Pagliacci with Orchestra, HP and GP (General rehearsal). Finally on Friday we had our premiere, it was a very good premiere and the public was very enthusiastic and I really enjoyed making my Beppe debut. I am glad how it went, we all enjoyed it very much. The only inconvenience is that I hurt my left knee, it is for sure some meniscus issue, so I have not been able to walk without pain, I think I did a wrong turn or a very strong jump without proper stability on my knee, so I had to turned down Beppe’s jumping around. You see, I suffer a bit of my knees now and then, because back in high school I use to play lots of Basquetball, I was even on the team of the school and I was not bad at it. I really loved playing that sport, it kept me so active the whole time and I just love playing it, and to think quick and make quick decisions and work as a team, also I could eat as much as possible and did not gain weight haha. The only problem is that we always except some tournaments always on concrete and not proper court. So, I did injured myself few times due to the high impact or the floor, plus I got a broken finger, back pains, twisted ankles, etc. I nevertheless loved every part of it, also with my teammates we were like a little family, so lots of connections. I think besides the choir as a kid, the next team was the basket family, I talk from the feeling of doing something together and building something beyond each individual. That is one of the reasons I loved being in the choir as a kid, because it was about forming part of something as a group and making the thing I love which is music.
I am happy Aki came to see the premiere on Friday to feel supported and I was happy to show my Beppe to her. Today Sunday I just had the second show and it went again really well, but these days in Germany is getting hotter, due to a heat wave that is currently happening in Europe, apparently a very strong one, and next week its supposed to be even warmer.
I keep doing my daily reading and this week because of my knee I had to change a bit my exercise routine and left the leg work to next week, in the hopes I feel better. I also kept my morning pages. I hope you are well and please take care. See you next week.
