Beppe, Sondershausen, World Cup…
Hi there! I hope you are well. This week I continue with the rehearsals of Pagliacci. The weather has been very moody, we get rain, sun, wind, cold, so that makes rehearsals a bit more challenging, specially because our stage is outside in the garden of the Schloss here in Sondershausen. I would say it feels more difficult when we rehearse in the evenings because it gets chilly, we all have to be careful not to get sick before the shows. I brought with me some UNIQLO jackets which are very useful and light to travel with. They have very light and jet warm jackets, you should look at them on their website or here in Germany there are some stores in mainly big cities like Berlin, Hamburg, Stuttgart. I am a fan and user of this brand since like 10 years and it never disappoints. I really like the way they make the clothes and the style.
This week is the opening of the 2026 World Cup in Mexico, USA and Canada. The first match was Mexico vs South Africa. The match was not great but finally Raul was able to score one goal at a world cup, and also we had the debuts of some very promising players. I really like football, and I have been watching most of the matches between rehearsals and the highlights of the ones I could not see. The Mexican team has some good players and we know they always play good matches and there is a lot of heart on the players, but we never make it to the last rounds, this time is a bit different because they play some games in Mexico and being at your home playing such important games could be a big advantage, to have your people cheering you up and being home. I hope they make a very good tournament. I am also looking forward to seeing Messi, Ronaldo playing their last world cup, also some other great players will be playing their last World Cup. But Messi and Ronaldo playing for the last time is to say goodbye to these monsters of the game which dominated the field for the last 15 years or so, which is a lot for a player to keep playing at such high quality for those many years at the top leagues and what they accomplished is so rare.
I keep working on Beppe, doing lots on stage and I enjoy the role and the colleagues very much. Also just making music makes my heart very happy. I also started to remember Japanese, watching and re watching some videos and also revisiting my notes on vocabulary and grammar, so that I start practising and at least next time I go I can be a bit better than the last time. I have a bit more than a month to prepare and I look forward so much to that trip.
