Sondershausen, Japan, Beppe…
Hi there! I hope you are well. I had a nice week! We finally started rehearsals at the Schloss at Sondershausen for the upcoming production of Pagliacci and Cavalleria. The weather has been not so kind to us but we are making the best to rehearse effectively.
This week I also got the chance to talk to the colleagues of Cavalleria and it is really nice to meet knew people and also develop new connections. Rehearsals are going well, it is nice to be finally on the stage where the performances will take place, to get use to it and specially getting use to sing outside for this production. I believe now is my 4th or 5th production outside, so I know how to take care and get healthy to the performances.
I am really happy, finally I was able to buy my ticket to go this summer to Japan and I am really looking forward to visit my Japanese family and after Mexico my favorite country so far. I am looking forward to see also some friends there and visit all the coffee places I love to go whenever I am in Japan. This time it will be Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo. Probably we will organize a little trip to the countryside or Hiroshima. I am so looking forward to visit Maedasan and his Tofu Shop. I visit him every year, now it will be the 8th time I will be visiting Japan and I still get the same excitement as the first time. The food, buildings, history, people, entertainment, nature, it is all so interesting to me. See you soon Japan.
This week I continue working on my voice and on improving while trying some different phrasings with Beppe. I do not have so much to sing but I am really active on stage, so the challenge at this point is to remember the right order of all the things I must do. I am enjoying working with Gabor and Benjamin, we understand and respect each other very much. This is a big aspect of enjoying the process of this particular production. The flat that the theatre provides me for the rehearsals in Sondershausen is really nice, so I am really comfortable there. I came home for the weekend and spend some quality time with Aki.
I keep doing my exercise routine and my daily reading, as well as my morning pages. Also I am reading Power vs Force by R. Hawkins, this book is a recommendation, and I am giving it a try. So far is really interesting and it complements with the other reading material I have been exploring in recent years.
I hope you are well and please take care. See you next week.
