Nordhausen, Beppe, Stand up comedy show…

Hi there! I hope you are well. This was the second week of rehearsing Pagliacci, we staged already the whole opera and now we will continue working on details and possible changes to improve it. I have fun doing this production because the colleagues are nice and our conductor Gabor Hontvari is a good musician. We had the Sitzprobe with the orchestra and that was really nice. Gabor and I understand really well each other.

I went back to Leipzig for the weekend, Aki and I went to see for the first time a Stand up comedy show in Leipzig, in Spanish. The comedians were from Bolivia, Mexico and Portugal, the whole show was in Spanish and we loved it. It was a really nice experience, and I must admit I also got a bit nervous because some of the jokes or interactions they tried did not work so well and also the public sometimes did not react how they expected. You can see in the face of the comedian when he or she gets for a second, shocked, and their expression changes when the public did not react more positively and then how they must quickly get over it and or change topic or dynamic… it was really nice but a bit stressful for me to watch them.  Most of the public were Spanish speakers, there were also some German and my Aki. It was really nice evening I have to say, we even got to talk to the comedians after the show and they were really friendly. I have a bigger respect for the comedians, for their courage to get on stage and do stand up.
