Florence, Pisa, Berlin…
Hi there! This week was again full of travelling. On Monday and Tuesday I was still in Italy, in Florence and Pisa. I have not really been in Pisa since over 15 years. It was nice to be back because besides the famous inclined tower, I did not remember anything. On Monday I still was in Florence and had a nice coffee and went to get the same Salami I got last time I was there in August, one from Puglia a very tasty one and one salami from Toscana with truffle. Then I took a train in late afternoon to Pisa, I spent the evening walking around the charming center and taking some photos with my camera. The next morning on Tuesday I got to the Pisa tower again and tried few coffee places and did some reading. That late afternoon I took a flight to Berlin, back to Germany. Then the following day I did my Berlin routine, which is going to my favourite coffee places, buy nice bread, go to Asian market and get some mochi and onigiri. Then I came home.
After travelling for the last few days I had one day rest, actually practising for an upcoming audition on Friday. On Friday morning I took the train and went to the audition. It was only an informative audition so they were not looking for anything specific. I sang 3 arias. It went really well, I had enough time to warm up and my voice was in good shape. I did my “small talk”, also, I was really focusing on getting my energy right and allow the excitement to be used in the audition in the right way. For the first time in my time in Germany, the pianist was a great surprise for me, not only did he follow me and made music with me, he had such a creative input, the way he was playing, I could feel the orchestra. He had such taste and delicacy. Even in the third aria which we did not practice together and he did not know it well, he played so beautifully. I enjoyed so much finally making music with someone in an audition. I tell you, this rarely happens. I do enjoy making music so much and in auditions it is difficult to really be in a very deep sense, connected to the pianist which most of the time you do not know and they do not know you, or know how to accompany you. In this occasion, the pianist was so special, I have only admiration and respect for such an artist.
After my audition I passed Leipzig and had a nice lunch with Akiho and then we came home. Afterwards I was so tired, but glad I made this long week and that I managed to do a very solid audition.
I keep reading my daily pages, doing my exercise routines and also reading some books.
I hope you are well and take care. See you next week.
