Classes, Stuttgart, remembering …

Hi there! I hope you are well. This week I went to a little town near Stuttgart, to take 2 days lessons with a teacher I really like. It was time to see her and we had 2 days were we talked about singing, life, love, soul, personal topics, etc. It was really intense and really deep. I love having deep conversations and she does too, but she has also nice sense of humor so we can also laugh in the middle of our deep conversations. Each lesson was about 3 hours. She and her husband are already old but full of energy and really good listeners. I was able to stay over at their beautiful home. So we had after the lesson a nice dinner and the next day breakfast before out second lesson.

She is a real pedagogue, so we could talk about the details on the voice and also she works on singing as something holistic, she knows I am a nerdy hehe. We really work very intense and many things made lot of sense. Normally when I take lessons with her there has been always some element of confusion or me being a bit skeptical but this last 2 days we took finally the time to talk about everything and every aspect I wanted to clear with her, and I am really happy I understood everything she shared with me, and what she means and I agree with the way she approaches singing and I like the results.

I decided to stay in Stuttgart a couple of days. This time I really enjoyed being there, exploring coffee places and reading a lot and just taking the energy of the city. I lived in Stuttgart on the season 2011-12 when I was a member of the Musik Hochschuele and the Opernstudio at the Staatstheater. After so many years, I see the city growing and getting more alive, the energy feels slightly different in positive sense at least for me and I forgot that actually is pretty green, which I really like. While being there I walked through streets and remembered people and events that happen when I studied there. I was surprised that actually I had a very positive experience while living there. Although it took me time to adapt to the city, as I was there after I studied in London. London is a great city, so Stuttgart for me at that time was very pale in comparison, but now from actually the cities in Germany is not that bad, and it has some charm to it. I still remember my time at the Opernstudio and I really enjoyed studying with F. Araiza and making new friends and singing my first roles in Germany. Very nice memories.

I dedicated a lot of time to reading, besides my daily reading Holiday and Tolstoi, I included a book by S. Godin and also Napoleon Hill. I kept doing my exercise routine 4 times a week.

Take care and see you next week.
