Coaching, Motettes, Beppe…
Hi there! This week was a nice one in Leipzig.
I took a coaching with Ansi, a very experienced coach with a very creative mind, plus a lot of energy in a good way, at least for me. We worked on some arias and it went really well, it was refreshing to hear new musical suggestions in certain phrases of Salut demuere from Faust and also from De miei bollenti spirit from La traviata. It was very helpful and I will work on the suggested ideas. I was for the first time at the Thomas Kirche to hear a concert of different musical periods, from the sixteen hundreds until nineteen hundreds with the Leipziger Vocalensemble under the baton of Amelie Saalbach, it was really nice and the ensemble performed really well, it was very special to have some organ pieces that were from Bach, in this church where he is resting. When I was reading about the ensemble, I saw that Amelie also took part of the World Youth Choir.
I took part in the choir the summer of 2006, when I came for the first time to Europe and we travelled across Italy, Switzerland, France, Belgium and Germany, we toured for 3 weeks and had several concerts, we finished the last concert at the Europa Cantat at the Cathedral in the beautiful city of Mainz. This experienced marked me for life in a positive way, I met some incredible people and had an amazing experience relating to people from so many different countries and all in order to do music, it was incredible.
This week I also kept working on Beppe as next week, I will be going to Nordhausen for a summer production at a Festival, the production is from the theatre. The conductor is a colleague of mine and we worked together in Wuerzburg for few years and he suggested me for the part as they were looking last minute for one Beppe. The role is really discret but it has a very nice aria and I will enjoy playing an Arlecchin, Gabor (the conductor) is a very good musician and we are very friendly with each other, so I am happy to work with someone who respects and understands music. The regisseur Benjamin Prins I got to work with him also back in Wuerzburg where I sang Rinuccio from Gianni Schicchi and we had fun working together, so I look forward to be active on stage and to get to work with nice colleagues and meeting new ones and getting to know a new theatre company.
I keep my daily reading, my morning pages and my 4 times a week exercise routine. I hope you are well and please take care.
