Coaching, Jetlag, Klaus Florian Vogt…
Hi there! I hope you are well. This week has been a relative relaxed one.
Last week I came from Mexico and I am still getting over the jetlag. I must also admit that I have been really tired these few days because during my time in Mexico I did so many things and travelled around quite a bit. I think my body is not so tired as my brain. Being in Mexico and meeting so many people and specially spending so much time with family was very different from how I live my life here in Germany. Now that I am back, I am processing all that I experienced there.
This weekend I had a coaching here in Leipzig, I really wanted to do some arias with a coach and just watch out for things that I might be missing on the interpretation side or new musical ideas. I was happy with the time I had with the coach. He is a really experienced pianist so I enjoy working with him on repertoire. I also went to see Die Schoene Muellerin (Schubert) with an instrumental arrangement and opera singer Klaus Florian Vogt. It was surprisingly good. He was really honest with his interpretation and the instrumental part was at times a bit weird but in general it was a really nice concert. He was also at times incredibly musical and his interpretation was really nice, he did different colours and sang with a lot of dynamics. I am not a fan of his singing and I am glad I went to see him because as an artist he surprised me a lot in a positive way, I was really curious to see him in a more private setting like a lied concert where he had just a couple of instruments and it was about how he merge with them and how he tells these beautiful songs. He was really good.
I keep doing my exercise routine, daily reading and my morning pages. I hope you are well and please take care. See you next week.
