Christmas, Concert, Augsburg…

Hi there! Happy Christmas!!!

I hope you had a wonderful time with your loved ones. I had a very nice and relax Christmas with Aki at home. She cooked a delicious meal, and we ate a lot. We also exchange some gifts and she continues with our tradition of buying cheap Casio watches and slowly we are creating our little collection. It all started when I went the first time to Japan back in 2019 and since then, we decided to find the cheapest but cool Casio watches, for our fortune there are many models which are very affordable and cute.

We just came back from Augsburg, where I had a concert.  We visited the house of Leopold Mozart, it is now a museum, a very small one but really cute and very interactive. I learned few things I did not know about him. We also visited some coffee places and walked around a bit.

During one of our walks, we passed a record shop. Lately I am hunting 2nd hand records of Classical music, mostly opera and singers. This time I found a Stabat Mater (Rossini) with Pavaroti and Aida with Corelli. I bought each record for 5 euros and I think is amazing to had this vinyl records for that prize. Sometimes the condition of the covers are not so good, this time however are really in good condition. Luckly for me, I have found several recordings that are so old but in extremely good conditions, I guess they were not very often used or the owners really took care of them. Listening to singers and operas on this vinyl records really shows a very different quality from digital or online platforms. There is something raw about them, you hear everything, as if the singers were singing in my living room. Because the recordings are so old, I have found for example some from Caruso and some from Aureliano Pertile. Pertile sounds so clear and I can hear everything. His Chenier in vinyl is so amazing, at least to me.

Last night I had the Operetta Gala. It went really well, I sang my three arias and one duet plus the encore. I am glad I had this concert, singing new arias and working on my German. After getting the feedback from Aki I know now what to change for the concert next week with the same program. I was trying some things vocally that I exaggerated and Aki really quickly pointed them out. I am glad she heard the concert because,  as I said in previews blogs more than once, on the importance of having a good pair of ears by your side.

I continue my daily reading and morning pages and my exercise routine.

I hope you are well and had a great Christmas.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL!!!
