Studying, Erfurt, reading…

Hi there! I hope you are well. This week I focused on reading and practising a lot. I am also happy I could do exercise with my dumbbells at home. Because I have been travelling a lot during the last months, I have missed often doing my exercise at home. it is a kind of habit, so I missed it.

I continue reading Juvarra on his take on Lamperti, Lauri Volpi, Caruso, Tetrazzini and Aureliano Pertile. Pertile has been so interesting to me recently, the more I listen to him the more I like it. I remember listening to some recordings of him years ago, and I did not understand much back then. So, I started to listen to him again regularly since about 2 years ago and he is great. The way he interprets, his colors, the way he phrases, the energy on his singing, very impressive, also, the way he thought about singing on his book, the way he describes free, pure and squillante singing. As you may know I am really interested on learning all I can from other artists and to understand more my own voice also thorough the understanding of artists I look up to and admire.  Discovering the writings of some teachers and singers on their own perception of the human voice has been really useful and interesting to me. I wish I could apply all of this knowledge after reading it. However, I know it will take years for me to continue developing and I am ok with it and I look forward to every small progress as tiny as it may be, I am also open to confusion because eventually I will find my way. The path of singing for me is more about the deepness with which I know myself and project it into my singing. It is kind of difficult to explain and write it down into written words, but the journey of singing for me is very align with my way of seeing and living life. I will never stop learning and discovering how I can with this voice communicate and express to the highest level, with a free, pure tone.

Today was the last performance of Aki as a Mimi in Erfurt at the Dom Festival. She did great and I am proud she managed really well, after taking few days of to get her voice again rested. Aki just lost a friend and we are sad and she had an important connection to him so rest in peace dear Gabreil, we will miss you and we will keep working on this musical path searching for excellence and Aki will keep working I am sure to achieve the great levels and with the same care you did with your own music.

I keep doing my exercise routine and reading daily to Holiday and Toltoi. Plus reading about singing a lot and I just started this book called Blink.

I hope you are well, take care and see you next week.
