Rehearsals, studying, reading…
Hi there! I hope you are well and had a nice week. This week we continue at the theater with rehearsals of Die Lustige Witwe. The role I sing, which is Camile de Rosillon is a nice light part with some nice moments. This week we managed to put together the whole Operetta, from now onwards we will polish the whole thing and we will rehearse soon at the main stage.
My cold is finally over and my voice is back in good shape. This week I have been doing a lot of practicing on my voice and preparing some arias to get them in shape for auditions. Also watched several videos from my favorite singers and also some masterclasses as well as interviews with singers. I really enjoy watching the interviews, to see the person behind the singer on stage and their story.
I keep reading the "Daily Stoic" by Ryan Holiday and also reading again some chapters of a Richard Miller's book "Solutions for singers". I do really enjoy reading again and again anything really, cause everytime one discovers something different or find another perspective. Like with watching films the more you see a film you like, the more you find small details and things you did not noticed when you first saw it. Same with books, and as I read books about philosophy and singing, I find everytime a new angle or just things that I completely forgot and it is so refreshing these findings. I truly believe it helps me a lot to read again and again important stuff and concepts because the more I read them the more I grasp its meaning or importance in my life.
Take care and see you next week.
