Premiere of Die Zauberflöte…
Last night (Saturday 27th November 2021) we had our premiere of Magic flute and it went really well for all of us. Even with only 25 percent capacity due to the current Covid-19 regulations I felt the warmth of the audience, specially cause the loudest member of them was there, I am talking about my mum hehehe. She has one of the loudest voices I ever heard in my life and her several "bravo" were heard in the whole theater, she is such an enthusiastic and positive person and I love her for it. She shouted "bravo" to almost all the soloists and that made me happy.
This week we had everyday from Monday to Thursday run throughs of the opera with the orchestra and 4 consecutive days was a bit challenging but I am glad I managed to do well all the rehearsals. I am glad I had Friday free to take some rest and be ready for our premiere on Saturday. I worked further on my spoken text and I tried to do all the advice I received from the stage director and our opera director and the boss of the whole theater, the three of them have their own opinion on how I should speak the text and I tried to do the best I could. Musically our conductor Gábor Hontvári and I get mostly along well together and I believe we did a good work together.
It is really nice to finally have my mother here in my home and that she was able to watch few rehearsals before the premiere as well, it was a really nice experience for her.
Last week I started reading a book by Richard Miller called "On the Art of Singing" really interesting this week I had not enough time to continue with it but next week I will keep reading it. As I mentioned before I really like the research of the voice and vocal technique so I try to read as much as I can. In the future I would love to be a teacher and all of this infromation will be of much help.
I wish you a good day and until next week.
